Laura is a London-based Italian actor, writer and director working across theatre and film in the UK and Europe. Active professionally since 2012, she began her career as a filmmaker with her debut writer-director short Black and White, which was presented at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy.
She trained in theatre and filmmaking in London and Rome, and holds a BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Practice from London Metropolitan University, alongside an MA in Filmmaking from Central Film School, specialising in directing and screenwriting. Her creative practice spans acting, writing, directing, producing and stage management.
Laura has performed, trained and worked internationally, including in Rome with the Istituto Teatrale Europeo, in Gdańsk as part of the 2017 Shakespeare Festival with a contemporary adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, and in Barcelona at the MUTIS Fringe Festival with the piece She’s Fine. She works fluently in both English and Italian.
In 2019, she developed and performed her first self-written and directed stage play, The Bloopers Limited, staged at the Canada Water Theatre in London. Her theatre work also includes stage management for Diverse City’s award-winning production Mid Life at the Barbican Theatre.
Creatively, Laura is drawn to stories centred on women and their inner emotional landscapes, with a strong foundation in movement, physical comedy and collaboration. Alongside her work for stage, she continues to develop original screen projects, including the short film Amalia and her most recent writer-director project Leena.
